Near the stream in the forest, Mariko wakes up to find a passed-out Nidi next to her. She remembers that they were attacked by Krishna's subordinates. She drags Nidi along with her to the cave. Nidi wakes up and tells Mariko to leave him and run. Tired Mariko shakes her head.
Niram takes Mariko to hunt tigers on an elephant's carriage. Niram shoots down a tiger. He checks on a kneeling on the ground Mariko, who excitedly says her heart is pounding. Mariko says that she thought hunting is for pleasure, but now she understand tiger hunting is needed, since they threaten villages and livestock. She prays for the dead animal.
Palace Baroda is Prince's Niram's residential area. Mariko plays with a lot of rabbits in the courtyard. Niram's secretary, Nidi, states that those rabbits are for dinner. Niram quickly tells Nidi to be quiet. Nidi stands before Mariko uttering, "How disgusting..You're trying to get close to people by speaking in their native language."
Mariko asks Vimar about why everyone's touching Niram's shoes. Vimar explains that it's a Hindu tradition to show respect towards noble or people they love and Niram is taking the king's place today. Mariko remembers the time Niram touch her shoes, "towards the people we love [that was the meaning of his sweet smile]."
